Here at Townsville Grammar School, we’re dedicated to helping students achieve and maintain good, stable mental health. We've worked hard to create an environment that focuses on support and nurturement whilst simultaneously working to cultivate resilience amongst our student base. We take this responsibility exceptionally seriously, which Is why we’ve developed appropriate programs and strategies across our entire range of primary, secondary, high and boarding schools. If you have any questions regarding these programs or our policies, please feel free to get in touch with our staff.

A Community-Centric Approach

Achieving and maintaining good mental health cannot be achieved in isolation. At Townsville Grammar School, we coordinate closely with students, parents and guardians, families, friends and community groups to ensure that we craft a healthy environment for mental health. Moreover, we’ve crafted an area where discussions on mental health are not taboo, so if problems do arise, students will be comfortable talking to a trusted and informed expert, whether that be a member of our faculty or someone out in the broader community.

A Focus on Resilience

All primary, secondary, high and boarding schools in Townsville place a high priority on ensuring that students develop resiliency, which can help them to overcome difficulties in their lives. Through various activities, such as discussions, sports, performing arts programs and support systems, our staff will ensure that your child is prepared to respond appropriately to the array of challenges that life will present them with.

Mental Health Education

We understand that you can’t achieve and maintain good mental health without a clear understanding of what it entails. Specifically trained faculty members will deliver comprehensive programs that educate students on mental health and how they can influence and manage their state of mind. Regular community events, wellbeing seminars and open discussions on mental health will also be provided.

We always place a high priority on mental health. If you have any questions about our policies, programs or anything else, call us or contact our staff online.
