The entire school community at Townsville Grammar School is pleased to participate in community engagement and outreach. We love where we live and learn in Townsville, Queensland, and our commitment to the local community shows through a range of initiatives and special programs. Keep reading to learn more about our contributions to the community and how students can get involved.

Developing Service Mindsets & Leadership Skills

A service mindset is one of the hallmarks of a Grammar education and a proven way to develop leadership skills. As a top choice for Townsville secondary schools, Townsville Grammar School allows every student to explore leadership and service, which helps them become contributing and respectful members of our school community and society as a whole. Community events, charity fundraisers and school theme weeks are widely embraced at each campus.

School Community Service Groups

The tradition of community service starts young at Townsville Grammar School. EarlyAct is our Junior School Community Service Group, which serves local, national and even international causes. We believe the earlier students get involved in service, the more excited they will be to give back in their daily lives. EarlyAct often works alongside the Secondary School’s Interact Club, helping students of all ages learn about the needs of the wider community. From primary to high schools in Townsville, service mindsets inspire future leaders.

Ongoing Leadership Development & Grammar Education

As one of eight Grammar Schools in Queensland, Townsville Grammar School provides continuous service opportunities and leadership development. Our private high schools in Townsville give students the chance to complete community service through the Positive Education program. This includes the Duke of Edinburgh program, which encourages young people to volunteer in their community to help others and their personal growth and well-being. Camps, tours, local charities, and the annual Sony Foundation Children’s Holiday Camp are more examples of community engagement and outreach across our campuses.
